You might be very tired of winter

We wish you a good time, spring. We hadn't had a very cold winter so far, but by now, lasting minus degrees have taken a lot out of us. In many ways we can hear complaints about the weather. We are undoubtedly living in cold, sunless, dark, gray days. Before we indulge in self-pity and suppress our mood, let us think that what we now feel cold in other areas may come to fruition in the summer.

We are well aware that there are many different climates. Even if we are not in a Mediterranean climate, we will not experience the tooth-chilling cold that we have in Siberia. It is not my greatest pleasure, but if we were to start sulking for the winter, let us think that the coldest settlement in the world, the Ojmjak of Siberia. Already minus 71 ° C has been measured in this area. Different country, different habit. Just imagine that below -50 ° C children no longer have to go to school, but above that temperature everything happens as usual.

Siberia itself is known for the great cold, so there are other settlements outside the Ojmjak that are among the coldest cities in the world. Such as Yakutsk or Verkhoyan. But these frosty areas can do more. Annual temperature fluctuations can reach 100-105 ° C, which is also amazing.

Not only is Siberia a frosty region, but Alaska in northern America is also very cold. The northernmost settlement is called Barrow. In addition to the cold, the people who live there also enjoy the darkness, because beyond the arctic circle, the sun is different. Thanks to this, the setting in the middle of November does not wake up for more than two months. The state of Minnesota, called International Falls, is not named after the heat. While winter is very hard, cold and summer hot, it can be up to 39 ° C. The lowest temperature so far has been minus 48 degrees.

Yellowknife is the coldest town in Canada. If we get bored and hate the cold in our country, what would we do with us or in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar? A terrain well below minus forty might be unbearable for us.

Norway also has cold settlements. Karasjok is one of the places where the lowest temperature was measured because it is closer to the Arctic.

We haven't met the really cold this winter. However, the long-term minus has taken us out of strength and perhaps some liveliness, but at this point it is enough to think that we are still very lucky, because the weather here is summer compared to the above mentioned settlements.
