The seasons are noticeably different than before. It is increasingly unpredictable when a season shows its true face.

We are also experiencing climate change as a result of global warming. The site is by no means certain that it is the same as half a century ago. Such weather records are set in turn. In mid-November, we may not have experienced the autumn weather, and perhaps the winter will not be so cold that the lakes will freeze. The ice provides a good surface for ice skating.

Despite the freezing winter, we do not have to skate, as ice skating rinks offer the opportunity to practice this form of exercise.

The most famous of our country is the Budapest Ice Skating rink. The predecessor of the ice rink still in operation today was the City Park Lake. The building located there is one of the oldest sports facilities in our capital, which was used for sports in the 1830s.

At first, there was only a wooden stall on Lake City Park for those wishing to move around, where they could warm up and change clothes. The first ice skating group, the Pest Skating Association, was founded in 1869. When the capital merged, it was renamed the Budapest Skating Association. The skaters liked not only the movement but also the parties, so there were festivities and balls on the ice of the lake, so they tried to motivate them to do sports and even more to skate.

The wooden booth was replaced by a new skating rink in 1875, designed and constructed by Ödön Lechner. The size and shape of the city park lake also changed constantly. Much of it has been concreted in order to increase the surface. The hall building has also undergone changes. It was rebuilt and built to fit the building with cloakrooms and changing rooms.

Refrigeration equipment was used to create the ice surface. The new City Park Ice Skating rink was opened on November 20, 1926. Staying on November 20, this year the ice rink opened its doors this year. In addition, this year began the anniversary season, because this is the 150th.
