Preserving youth and beauty has been present in our lives since we became conscious. Even before today's modern medicine, they tried to maintain beauty and therefore did a lot.

And today, when even the beauty industry and medicine are playing into our hands, more and more rejuvenating beauty methods are available to us to regain our old self or change what we don't like about ourselves.

We may opt for plastic surgery for various reasons, but after the desired transformation we will hopefully regain our self-confidence and the world will become much rounder than it was before. However, some people show an addictive behavior towards such interventions. Here are some factors that may explain why someone might “click” for plastic surgery:

Psychological reasons

People who struggle with low self-esteem, anxiety or depression often find that plastic surgery can improve their emotional well-being and self-confidence. However, when these basic problems do not resolve with surgery, you may want and have additional procedures done. In fact, it becomes a vicious circle, since the problems that reside in the mind and soul cannot be solved by reshaping the body.

Body image disorder

Some people may have a distorted body image and are constantly dissatisfied with their appearance. Even if they achieve the desired result with plastic surgery, dissatisfaction may persist and they look for another flaw in themselves that needs to be "fixed" surgically.

Abnormal behavior

Addiction to plastic surgery may even be called body modification addiction. This behavior is characteristic of individuals who want to constantly change their appearance and feel that they are never satisfied with their current state. After an operation, they experience a temporary good feeling, but soon they want more changes.

Social pressure

Media and social norms can have a strong influence on our body image and ideal of ideal beauty. People under constant pressure may feel that they will only be accepted if they conform. This pressure can be a driving force in the continued search for plastic surgery.

It's important to note that plastic surgery can help some people deal with body insecurities or physical issues. If they feel that their self-confidence has been increased and their quality of life has been normalized, then they have no further desire for other interventions.
