However, there is a widespread view in the American press and among some politicians that the new virus, considered completely unknown by scientists, could have escaped from the laboratory of the Wuhan State Institute of Virology, by accident. According to press reports, bats are also being experimented with at the institution. Fox Television has been dealing with this assumption for days, citing anonymously four scientists from the University of Wuhan’s School of Chemistry and Life Sciences who, according to U.S. television information, confirmed in a study that the virus came from a laboratory.

Also on Tuesday night, Fox television spoke to Tom Cotton, a Republican senator from the state of Arkansas, and Florida Republican Matt Gaetz. Both stated a suspected laboratory origin of the virus.

The Washington Post wrote on Tuesday that the U.S. State Department warned Beijing through diplomatic channels in 2018 about shortcomings in the security and management of the Wuhan laboratory. The paper voted in favor of the majority of the scientific community that the new type of coronavirus had spread from infected animals. However, he cited an expert who did not rule out the possibility that the virus had been released from the laboratory.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also questioned about this article in The Washington Post in a radio interview on Tuesday. The head of the ministry rejected the concrete answer. All he said was, “ We know that this pandemic originated in Wuhan, China, and we know that there were markets where live animals were sold. Now we start to put together in detail what the reality is ”.
