34,000 pyrotechnic effects, a grandiose light show, impressive building painting, a floating flower carpet made of fire, a laser show and hundreds of drones - these will make the finale of this year's series of festive events on Hungary's birthday unforgettable. During the more complex fireworks display than ever before, Bengal fires cover the Danube, while visitors can relive important events of our national history thanks to the internationally recognized Hungarian artists .
34,000 pyrotechnic effects are responsible for the spectacle that can be enjoyed on the entire Danube bank in the capital, which are shot from 230 launch points in the river section between the Margit Bridge and the Petőfi Bridge, as well as on the Szabadság and Erzsébet Bridges. The missiles are launched from 7 river barges and 65 pontoons on the Danube. New this year, Bengal lights form a floating flower carpet on the water as part of the show, and a laser show on both sides of the Danube adds color to the show, enriching the scenery of the Chain Bridge and Elizabeth Bridge.
The St. Stephen's Day fireworks display held in the nation's capital attracts huge interest every year, and at the same time, the international events industry also recognizes its success. The game of Fire and Light usually presents the fate-changing historical events, mythological creatures, and genesis of the Hungarian nation, based on a specific topic. The creators are continuing this tradition this year as well: at the center of the festive fireworks is the defining historical moment when King Saint Stephen offers the Holy Crown and Hungary to the Virgin Mary.
The visual episodes of the seven-act fireworks show accompanied by musical background are connected by textual narration, in each chapter the story of the birth of the nation, the blood treaty and the conquest of the country, the era of the Christian-pagan wars, and values that define the past and present of Hungarianness are brought to life. like faith and hope.
The visual design of the Game of Fire and Light was dreamed up, drawn and programmed by Anikó Seres, winner of the World Fireworks Competition in Montreal, based on the artistic concept of Árpád Iványi and Barnabás Réti, while the musical background – which is based on the works of the greatest national classics – is thanks to Norbert Elek.
